Cloth pull-ups; no PUL or stay-dry lining?

OK, DS (2 y/o) is now what I officially call daytime potty-learned. Nighttime... he's much closer than he used to be. He basically pees immediately upon waking, before he's with-it enough to get up and do something about it. He's not peeing all that much at night, so I'd just go back to using prefolds (we had to switch to disposables at night because he used to be such a heavy wetter at night that we couldn't do anything about it), but he's gotten VERY into the idea that he doesn't wear diapers. So... we've been using disposable Pull-Ups at night. I really feel like the inability to feel the wetness is just making it easier for him to not notice himself peeing while he's half-asleep.

All the cloth pull-up options I'm finding seem to have (a) a stay-dry lining, which would totally defeat my purpose here , or (b) PUL outer, which we don't want/need - he has lots of wool that still fits him that we can just use for pajama bottoms. Multi-layer training undies aren't sufficient absorbency just yet.

Anyone know of anything good?

What about pairing a thick pair of Gerber undies with a prefold?

Ooh, hmm. That could work. We're about to get our NB prefolds back (we loaned them out). That might be a good solution.

Ah, was going to suggest imse vimse or little beetle trainers, but I don't think that's exactly what you're looking for. . . after re-reading.

I wonder if something like little beetle's wool training underwear would do it though? Or as a combo with either of the above?

these by continuum family look sorta cool too, and it looks like they have some other things that might fit what you're looking around for (wool covers and bamboo trainers).

I'd try to find a wahm that does trainers, and get the inner/outer of your choice. Rainshine Designs makes trainers, but they are a little spendy. She is fabulous to work with, and her quality is great.
The prices here are nice., and you have your choice of inner and outer materials. I've not ordered from her, but have toyed with the idea.

My daughter has training pants from Blueberry (discontinued) and Imse Vimse. (The two brands are almost identical other than the aesthetics of the prints so I'll review them as if they were the same...)

I think they contain a layer of PUL but they definitely let her feel wetness. When she pees in them she knows immediately. They also only hold one pee before they leak through to clothing whereas her stay dry pocket diapers can hold several. For comparison, I had her in disposable pull-ups when we went on vacation and she felt no wetness and treated them like diapers. For a mostly potty trained toddler (i.e. able to tell you if they're wet/dirty) these are more convenient than cloth diapers because she can pull them up and down herself but they keep her clothes dry until she can be changed.

(I know this post is a few weeks old but I figured I'd add my 2 cents in case you hadn't found anything better yet.)
