[QUOTE=matey;15666037 should I go wipe for the 13,000th time today to see if I see anything of color?{/QUOTE]

haha! me, too! I think at least part of my whole vaginal-area tenderness is due to all the wiping I've been doing. I've even worried that the little bit of bloody mucus I've had is from a busted blood vessel in my labia from all the wiping.

It is so hard, isn't it? But fwiw, ice cream, Dr Who, and spraying a yappy dog sounds like a great day to me.

I've cleaned and cleaned this morning until my back aches and I'm exhausted. Will it mean anything other than overworked discomfort? Who knows. It may only be that it's the first chance I've had to do this kind of thing in a long time. I skipped work today (tomorrow is supposed to be my last day, anyway), DD is at preschool, and DH and my mom, who is staying with us until the big day, apparently, are out, so ahhhhh! A moment to myself. So what do I do? Nearly kill myself, that's what. I feel like the baby is going to fall out of me so I'm wearing a skirt just in case.

If I find out nothings going on at my Drs appointment tomorrow I'm going to lose my last bit of sanity right there. I know i've got a month but a month of THIS?! I hope I remember after I've had this baby that I never ever ever want to be pregnant again.

(AND I feel better now that i've vented. hahha)
EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING is annoying the crap out of me. The phone won't stop ringing and I have stopped answering it unless it's on my cell phone and I know who it is AND I want to talk to them (we don't have caller id on our land line). The dogs are making too much noise, all I want to eat is crap and I don't really care that we have a million dishes in the sink... but I know i will care tonight when I go to make dinner and I have to do them first because they are in the way.... so yeah just pissed off lol

I am doing this too. I am actually making my hemoirhhoid bleed (TMI sorry!) from my excessive wiping!! I keep thinking.. in the first trimester, I dreaded going to the bathroom because there was always blood (I spotted for 4 weeks!) and now I dread going because there never is any!! Can't keep a pregnant lady happy

No blood checking for me. I didn't really get bloody show with my first and I don't remember even really bleeding through labor. I'm not counting that as a sign. I am, however, checking my cervix like 7 times a day. Seriously, it has to stop. I just want to know if all of these uncomfortable contractions are actually doing anything. The verdict is that they're not. But I'm already dilated enough to be in active labor.....so why aren't I? I've started EPO even though my cervix doesn't need to be any more ripe, it's my uterus that needs to get itself into gear. To top off all the prodromal 'fun' I'm definitely sick. Feeling achy with a head cold type thing going on. I'm developing an icky cough which is just great. Now I get to pee myself every 15 minutes. And when a cough happens to hit during a contraction it's oh so pleasant.
Trying to nap and rest and down a bunch of water, vit C, and echinacea. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be feeling better and ready to resume having sex 3 times a day to get things going.

I dont even know what to look for with my cervix. I have tried, believe me, but I am an idiot aboiut it. Wish I knew someone who did, because I think I would let them check me at this point. I dont know, maybe not, that's kinda weird. Are you taking EPO orally or putting it inside? I have no experience with this since #1 ds surprised us, but would be all about trying something new now.

Hahaha.......I only know how to check my cervix because I was doing it for a few years to keep an eye on my cycles. But I'm definitely no expert. I can get a pretty good idea of what's going on, but I could be wrong. The thing is, if you don't know what it felt like before pregnancy it would probably be too foreign to figure out at this point.

I'm taking the EPO both orally and vaginally right now. I take two capsules a day orally and then insert two at night before bed (I poke a hole in them with a needle first). I'm comfortable with the EPO because it's not said to be labor inducing, but simply prepares the cervix for when labor does start. Similar to how RRL prepares the uterus but doesn't actually induce labor. I don't think I'll do castor oil or cohosh at all this time unless I went really overdue for some reason.

I did NFP prior to both my children, and I still couldn't figure out the cervix thing. I spent many cycles trying to feel what I was supposed to be feeling, and finally dropped the cervix check off my charting because I just couldnt figure it out.

I've been feeling so leaky I'm afraid to put anything up inside my vagina for fear there's a little bag leak and I'll get an infection, so no cervical checks for me, not that I'd know what I was feeling, anyway. That also means no EPO and no sex for prostaglandins, which, believe me, is the only reason I'd even entertain the idea right now. It's a struggle just to get up off the couch.

Today has been more interesting for me than any other day thus far. All day I have been super uncomfotable (could be the heat). Then this evening I was itchy EVERYWHERE! I couldn't stop scratching. I also noticed that I was also having a lot of BH ctx. Well tonight I am still having BH but they are painful and my back is hurting intermitently along with my thighs again. I'm also feeling some extra pressure on my pubic bone and in my rectum (sorry TMI). I had a warm shower and things kept going and are now worse that I am out. I guess we will see what overnight brings.

My BH have been increasing in intensity. I woke up twice last night in such pain that I was moaning and groaning...at least it was good practice for my hypnobabies method. The BH pain went through to my back--my back was what hurt the worst, but it felt better if I rocked on all fours. I've always had back pain with menstrual cramps so it wouldn't surprise me if i had back pain during my birth. Also, with the BH last night I was feeling increased pressure in my pelvis. I'm really hoping that these intense BH mean that the birthing time is not far away. Anyone have any experience with this?

I did check for my cervix this A.M., however, and cannot find it. I guess it's still high, which isn't a good thing, right? Help from cervix-checkers, please!

I promised myself that i would not obsess about the birth day--since it's like trying to control the weather with my mind--so I'm just going to go about my day now--which included walking laps around the mall like an elderly person!

Today has gone better. I've kept busy which has helped me to not obsess about when this baby will come. I spent a lot of outdoor time with ds which means he is quietly playing by himself so I can work on dinner.

I have had lots of cramping, but really, that's it. I have been SO tired. Last night I went to bed at 8:30. Oh well, I will be missing out on sleep soon enough.

AmyKT - wondering if you managed to convince your body to have that baby??!!??

Trimestersdoula - Sorry it didnt happen yet!

The cervix needs to dilate, efface, and move down for birth to happen. Mine was way up above the babies head and hard to reach for a long time. It's now almost completely below the babies head and much easier to reach and feel what's going on. (Although, in pregnancy, easier does not translate to easy). So, you're probably right that it's still too far up to reach, but don't worry, mine literally moved all the way down in one day. Also, maybe, just maybe, you're so effaced already that you just aren't feeling any cervix because none is there. One can hope, right?

So! I didn't have to freak out at the doctor's appointment today. I'm at 2cm, 75% effaced and engaged ... and the bloody mucous has started again a little bit ago.
I'm not really doing anything to move things along right now.. mainly because I feel SUPER LAZY.
SO... come on baby.

Great news MissMorgan! Your working on getting that baby out!

I really think AmyKT has gone and done exactly what she planned on, and had that baby!! She's been MIA all day.

I feel like AF is about to show up, so I guess I am in the prodromal stage now! I had some light brown discharge this morning, so I have now joined the TP brigade. I was 75% effaced last week and no dilation, so the discharge makes me think that I am now beginning to dilate.

All day I have had menstrual like cramps, low in my uterus, a low back ache (for days now) and tender breasts. I have one last project to complete and I am feeling urgent about getting it done. Babe needs to wait until Friday though, because DH won't be home from work until Thursday night. I'll be 39 weeks along...

I think it is the moons fault, but today is the official start of prodromal labor for me! Been having BHX since 3:30 this morning 10 min apart non stop. Walking makes my whole pelvic area hurt and I am very tired! The babe has also not stopped moving. It's like a circus in there. Hopefully he his tired now and will let me sleep! Been in a panic all day trying to get everything together!

Yup - same for me! Maybe it's this seattle heat! My BH CTX are every 6 mins and they lessen to every 10 mins, baby is moving like crazy, too.
