weaning off zofran questions

I am trying to cut back on my zofran. I can't handle the constipation and I am starting to feel a little better, I am 15 weeks. I am trying to drop down from 8mg in the morning and 4 mg in the afternoon, to just 4mg in the morning.

Anyone else get off it and have like panic attacks that they need it? It seems like I have to wean off it like anti depressants. Is that the case or am I imagining it or not ready? I didn't have any strong urges to vomit today, only maybe one or two dry heaves, which is pretty good. Almost no constant nausea anymore. Bad smells are not bothering me as bad as they used to. But I have this constant almost addiction feeling that I need to keep taking the zofran. Is that a common effect from weaning off it?

I can't answer whether your symptoms are real or not since I ended up taking zofran for my entire pregnancy last time, but I did want to say that if you're feeling better maybe you can just focus on reminding yourself that if you're really not ready to wean off it, you can always start taking it again.

Weaning off and then getting sick again will not harm your baby, you'll just realize either that you still feel fine and then not have to take it anymore, or you'll get sick again and just go back to it.

For me, during pregnancy when I'm stressing about something and it's impact on the baby or me, I just try to differentiate between the things that can just be changed again... and the ones that can't. Seems to me if you're not ready to wean you just go back on for a little while longer. But it's totally worth it to experiment, cuz who wants to take it if you really don't need it anymore?
