Messiness when pumping

Hi,
I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong when I pump. Sometimes when I'm pumping the milk seems to circle around the areola and the entire area gets wet and slippery. Then the shields slip all around and make a slurping noise. Is the shield the wrong size? The suction not right? The angle wrong?
What's this all about?

Thanks!

I have the same problem, I found that putting a thin layer of lansinoh on the areola helps with the suction and slipping.

Ooh, I'll try that! Thanks!

I totally second the lansinoh trick. I pump 3X a day at work for my little boy, and without the lansinoh, it just doesn't work!
