Hey girls still here, 41+3 going on 41+4 in 2 hrs! MW was out on Fri and exmined me, baby has moved from -4 to 0 station and she said cervix is more anterior and 50% effaced. Had bloddy show this morn but no major action at all today. Really hoping things pick up soon as I really want this homebirth. The other good news is that the antibiotics have kicked in and I am feeling much better so bring it on baby we're ready to meet you!!
Hope everyone else is doing ok or even better have babes in their arms

41w1d.

Last night I really thought it was it! I got a little crampy and had some loooong (but not very severe contractions). Got my hospital bag ready, then fell asleep and woke up to a big fat nothing.

Baby is still very active though. For the first time I can feel some of her body parts through my belly, her little back and her spine and her little behind. I hope she's moving into a good position for delivery.

Still thinking of you mamas! I'm desperate for sleep already and Aden is screaming his head off.

Violet - one thing 2 of the MWs at my practice mentioned was that babies after 41 weeks sometimes have trouble coming out, but they leave that decision to the mom. Maybe that's why your MW picks 41 wks as her cutoff? The way Aden was positioned he wasn't gonna come out no matter how long I waited, but I am so glad I waited. I think I did the best I could and that's all that matters.

42+2 here and IN LABOR!!

Ctx are about 3 minutes apart and I'm supposed to be "resting". Think I have a very long night ahead, but hopefully a glorious morning!

Good luck Mosesface!

I think things may be starting up over here. I'm 41+1 today. Yesterday I had some spotting and this morning bloody show. Had harder contractions last night, and woke up 8 times from them. They are starting in my back now instead of just the frontal bands/BH I was getting. Had lots of pulling/tugging and crampy feeling last night too. Feels like my period.

But the contractions are still very irregular and not so frequent. I'm scheduled for Cervidil tonight, but hoping to go in already in labor and skip that part. I figure I must have dilated some to get the bloody show and all, so maybe I'll be past the Cervidil point?

Ooh sounds promising Violet good luck!
I had a sweep this morn, have had pains in front and back about 7 mins apart since. MW said that cervix is not stretchy, yet she still managed 2 fingers for sweep so does this mean I am 2cm? Can you be 2cm and not stretchy? Sorry v confused about all this stuff! Hope these surges are the real thing and not just a side effect of sweep.

Thanks! I know I'm ready, but the contractions stopped this morning, so nothing is going on now. I'd really prefer to start labor naturally, but they may have to jumpstart me tonight or tomorrow, depending on what my body does today. I think I may nap and save my energy.

Since the sweep was meant to start you up, the surges are not a side effect, but the intended effect, right? My MW has the philosophy that all of them are useful, even if we can't measure their usefulness in centimeters. She wanted to sweep me Thursday, but I wasn't dilated enough. Now with all this bloody show, maybe I am dilated enough for that? Maybe she could do that tonight instead of Cervidil (dreaming, I know...)

I hope these surges of yours prove to be the real thing! I know how old that waiting game is getting! Good luck!

In my experience the easy long drawn out contractions add in effacement and the more intense ones are dilation...So you may be effacing slowly which isn't all that bad.

Just stopping in to whine because still pregnant. 42+3

Was up with ctx 3 min apart and lots of bloody show till about 5am. Ctx started slowing and have been 10-30 min apart ever since. Good news is I've gotten some sleep and will be ready when/if things pick back up tonight.


Seriously, people, I have been pregnant forever. And now it feels like I'll be in labor forever.

I am struggling.

Still waiting. Depending on which due date I was given was actually correct, I'm either at 41 weeks today or 41 weeks + 6 days today. I have 3 more days till the doctor wants to induce. Praying hard that she comes on her own before then.
