I just wanted to share this annecdote from yesterday afternoon.
I am part- way into my single motherhood by choice journey, and my 5 year old daughter has been present and quite aware of the process of choosing sperm donors. My sisters and I have agonized over things like hair colour, vision, and other donor attributes.
Yesterday, at the gas station, I went inside to pay while 5 year old DD washed the windows with the squigee. When I came back out, she was excited.
DD - "Mommy, a man helped me wash the windows!"
Me - "Oh, that was nice of him."
DD - "He had blonde hair and a blue shirt. Should I ask him if he will marry you or give you some sperm?"
LOL! I am so glad she asked me first.
