Tandem BF and Sickness

I'm tandem nursing DD#1 (3 1/2 years) and DD#2 (7 weeks). DD#1 was just diagnosed with viral pharyngitis and has a fever and sore throat. Of course, both have been nursing before the onset of symptoms and through out the illness. Logically, the anti-bodies in the milk should protect DD#2 (and hopefully help DD#1 heal faster), but do tandem BF kids get sick more often?

I'm curious what others have experienced...

I have been tandem nursing just shy of 2 years. What I have seen is that my kids rarely shared colds. Maybe one or two times. The rest of the time only one was sick at a time. My daughter was sick less often as an infant than my son was. I think that's because I just didn't have time to take her to as many activities as I took him.

Thanks for the reply... DD#2 is now sick My poor baby is 7 weeks with a fever. Thankfully the pediatrician is holding off on any big tests since DD#1 has been sick with the same symptoms. My friend said her DD and DS had the same thing and she is not tandeming. Maybe this virus is just easily communicable?
