Upper Back Spasms

Ouch! Help!

Does anyone know what to do for upper back spasms? I'm 30 weeks. I don't even know what to do with myself. I was sitting in a hard backed chair but it got worse so I moved to a recliner. My husband suggested laying on the floor in my backk uhm I wish

Anyone have suggestions for stretches or positioning that might provide some relief? I can't seem to figure out what will hurt vs. ultimately help.

My favorite is "threading the needle." Get on your hands and knees, in table pose. Lift one arm up high, then lower it and push it straight under your body until you are on your shoulder (or as close to it as you can get). Relax into that stretch. I just crave that one when my upper back starts to hurt. But go slowly into it just in case it's not what your back needs!

That feels awesome! Thank you!

Of course, my two year old thought I looked like a ramp and started driving trucks down my back. Gotta distract him and get back on the floor.

I'm having severe lower back/hip/leg pain, and my chiro gave me a cream with arnica and some other stuff-- all homeopathic. Might be worth trying something like that; hey, whatever helps when it comes to back pain in pregnancy, I say!

Yoga with toddlers is... interesting. Although I sometimes still have to remind my 5yo that mommy doesn't need any help deepening the stretch (aka - that hurts, get off me while I'm stretching!). Glad it helped.
