what in the heck is going on with my boobs?

My DD is 13wks. I was pumping here & there nothing regularly. I was getting about 2 - 4 oz total each time.

Last thurs & fri I only got a total of 1.5 oz in 3 pumping sessions my boobs have been feeling 'flat'.

On Sun I came down with a cold. Could this affect supply?

yesterday,Monday, my boobs were back to feeling full & they wouldnt stop leaking the whole day. This morning they feel full, lumpy & sore (making me nervous). What the heck??

Could this cold have wrecked such havoc with my supply??

I'm going to pump now...

your supply has regulated to baby's needs - which is great! when you pumped 3 times you told your body to make more - which it did! your boobs work fine. they now expect you to removed the extra milk you asked them to make

seriously - i bet your supply is absolutely fine. as long as you kept hydrated and didn't take cold medications with pseudoephedrine in them the cold should not affect your supply.

sounds like you're doing great, Mama! just make sure you work out those lumps - either try to nurse more or try to massage in the shower and express them

ETA: our babies are almost exactly the same age! congratulations! isn't this a cute time?!

OK, so I dont go through this again, should I just pump every day instead of pumping frequently when I know I am going to need bottles? This will keep my supply steady - right?

yup - that sounds like a good plan. once a day should avoid the lumps. the good news is your milk supply responds quickly! are you feeling better today?
