HCG diet SUPPORT thread - Page 8

For meals on the go, I may have it a bit easier then everyone else as I am doing the diet as a vegetarian. This week for example I was out of the house so I just packed myself a container with cottage cheese and one with some cherry tomatoes. That was my lunch, I usually eat my fruit as an afternoon snack when we got home. I've also gone out with hard boiled eggs and cucumbers, egg "salad" and tomatoes, etc. I think it's easy pretty, actually.

This morning only showed a loss of .2lbs. Once again, although I was drinking tons yesterday (it was so hot and humd here!) I didn't pee a lot. So, I'm calling water retention! Hopefully tomorrow or the next day will be a big loss.

Thats another one of my "issues"...I am such a picky eater..I hate it. I have been forcing myself to try and enjoy new things in the last several years, but convenient things, like cukes and tomatoes, I try every year and blech. Maybe though...I will keep trying I do have some bento boxes too so that may help as far as packing things.

I will have to be, gulp, organized! :

Ok, off to research a bit more before heading out with the kids!

I'm picky too. I hate cucumbers. I force myself to eat them. lol.

I'm down another 1.2 lbs which makes it a total of 18.2 in 15 days!

Awesome!!

I love most veggies -- good thing brussel sprouts are not on the list, hate those!

Sometimes I will pack something to take along. Mostly, like right now, I will eat my protein/veggie/melba before leaving so that my needs to not dictate the day. I can then pack along a simple apple and eat it when the fam eats or whenever I'm hungry. That has been working really well for me.

The other thing, if I know we're going out to eat is that I can eat my protein before leaving home and then just order plain salad greens and unsweetened ice tea at the restaurant. It makes less of a 'look at me and my needs' big deal of the whole thing.

When our homeschool playgroup gets going this fall I intend to make up a cold chicken and cuke salad to pack along. That plus some fruit will totally rock for my lunch.

Okay, so the kidney pain is completely gone, but now I have this constant "side ache" on the front of my body, right under my ribs. I thought it was hunger at first, but it doesn't go away after I eat anymore. I just want to be hunched over or stretched out all day. Today, while I was waiting in line at the store, I thought I was going to scream. It was so painful. I ended up crouching down for a minute to compose myself. People must have thought I was nuts.

Anyone else have this problem? My sister is on the same day as me and she has the same issue, but it's more of a traditional side ache (on her right side).

Not trying to diagnose anything...as I am not qualified for that at all...but when I was pg I had a pain where you seem to be describing and my midwife told me that it was probably my gallbladder. Always felt better if I hunched over or stretched out far. Had it with all of my pregnancies. Far worse if I had anything oily or greasy (thought that shouldn't be your issue on the protocol) or anything very spicy. And sometimes it seemed to come on without any of those known triggers.

You may be onto something, Mary. I'm wondering if I should just do the 23 days instead of 40 now.
Ok...so I called my doc and we are getting this going. I am excited and extremely nervous all at the same time.

I am feeling great lately as I finally have something that keeps my migraines down (a homeopathic called migraspray) and I havent had one for 7 weeks. I am really scared to start getting them again (if I forget to eat I get a doozy).

So really, you guys really arent feeling hungry?

I have been reading all I can find on it and am considering buying that cookbook previously linked.

What are the most important tricks and hints you can think of? Where do you get you flavored stevia...anything else you can think of to help me get started?

I can't speak to that at all. I'm fairly new to understanding body chemistry and metabolism and all those things. Learning, but still new.

My first (uneducated) thought is that maybe your body needs some detoxing support?

I don't feel hungry very often. Usually it kicks in when I'm cooking...which I why I now cook my own meals first and then work on the one for the rest of the family.

Truly I feel so full from drinking all the water that I usually don't get very hungry.

The cookbook is fab!

They have flavored stevia at the natural foods co-op/store I go to...hazelnut, chocolate...several others.

I got a big bottle/jar (like the size grocery store packaged parmesan cheese comes in) of plain powdered stevia at Trader Joe's for only $6.99. They had teensy bottles of organic powdered stevia for $9.99. I try to do lots of organics, but at that price difference I went with the big bottle.

I'm going to do another detox bath tonight. I already had that planned because I need a break from the kids. lol.

I've been reading up on another hcg forum about gallbladder issues and hcg and there is a link. It's the VLCD that triggers it. I bought some supplements that someone recommended and I'll give them a try. Hopefully they'll arrive soon! I need relief!

Ah, makes sense then.

I'm so glad that my gallbladder discomfort hasn't flared up then. But like I said, I only ever had that problem while pg.

What are the hcg forums? I have searched and am so far coming up empty. I found the skinny me site..and I thought someone mentioned a forum with it but I dont see that either

Google hcg diet info forum. It should pop right up for you.

I think I'm going to do Hulda Clark's liver/gallstone flush. The thought of having to swallow oil again though... Last time I did that it was castor oil and I mixed it with chocolate ice cream. And out popped a baby 8 hours later. I'll have to get to the health food store tomorrow and get the couple ingredients I still need. Self-induced diarrhea scares me!

You can buy flavored stevia for cheaper on vitacost.com. Our grocery store charges much more than the vitacost.

No pain this morning after the detox bath. Lets hope it keeps off during the most painful part of the day (10-5). I have to help my sister mow my grandma's giant lawn again today. Ugh. Expending all my energy before noon is not my idea of a good time.
