And another idea: Since you feel that you have gotten sensitive to pretty much anything, have you thought about the lasering method for specific foods? I've never tried it myself, but there are lots of people on the hcgdietinfo forum that have had great success with it ( aka got rid of their sensitivities).
You would have to be patient in adding the various foods back in since you'd have to do the lasering for every single thing and then wait a time (not sure...24 hours? 48 hours?), so it would take some time to get a number of foods "treated" but it might be worth it.
I haven't found any real long-lasting sensitivities (except for carbs in general LOL), that's why I haven't tried it yet. But I might try bread or pasta during next P4, just to see whether I'll be able to eat more of it without the scale shooting up like crazy.
As for the emotional component, I completely understand that you're fed up. I'm fed up, too, and I haven't had the difficulties you have been struggling with. And, even though this diet works miracles, it's not easy to follow protocol for such a long time. So that drains the emotional resources, too.
But: Look at the big picture. Yes, you did gain some weight back and had trouble stabilizing, but you're still 20/25 lbs BELOW the weight you started at last fall!! That's still great, isn't it?
As for me, I have had great losses this first week until today.....when I suddenly didn't lose anything at all
And for me, that's unusual at this point of the phase....I do stall later, but have never had a 0 loss in the first couple of weeks. I have no idea what the culprit is. I did have a few new things yesterday: made a dressing with lemon juice, salt and pepper instead of vinegar/mustard, had halibut with asparagus for dinner, instead of the usual boring chicken or beef with tomatoes, and I finally broke down and used some aloe vera spray on my hands (they were getting so rough you could have sanded wood with them...Alaska is REALLY hard on skin and lips in the winter because it's so dry up here).
Finally I stole 1/5 or so of a mandarin orange from my son, since I figured I hadn't had my second fruit portion yet and are mandarin oranges really so different from other oranges? But usually I don't even have regular oranges, but stick to apples. So those are all things that I don't normally do/have.....who knows which was the "bad one".
(And, who knows, it might just be TOM approaching, too, which would definitely explain the non-happenings of the scale )
Soooo...I'm not going to worry about it until I see what the scale says tomorrow morning LOL
Right now, what is worrying me even more is my right eye. It's scratchy as if I had something in it, sand or so......usually nothing to worry about, but I've had pink eye not too long ago, and it's still going around, I know a few people who just got it last week....so I'm really afraid I might have caught it AGAIN (it sure feels exactly the same way). Let's hope I just got something in it, though......I'm REALLY not in the mood for another round of pink eye.
So much for today.....hang in there, we're suffering together (ooooh, right after typing that, I started hearing a song in my head.....add the music here: We're suffering togeeether, togeeeether, togeeeether, we're suffering togeeeeether.......you know which song (kiddie song) I mean? Different lyrics, of course LOL
I was at Mom's, hence all the nuts...I was feeling somewhat deprived and left out. Everybody else was eating cookies and cakes and pies and mashed potatoes and bread. I knew, going into it, I wasn't going to be eating those things, but dammit I wanted something. So, nuts it was. Mostly macadamias, and almonds, but there were walnuts in there, and some yogurt (full fat Fage plain) which I don't normally eat. I was treating myself, albeit compliantly.
What in the world is lasering? I have not heard of that.
It IS great that I'm still down by 25lb or so. But I'm so dismayed how easy it is to put half of it back on...it's one of those things where I'm going "I might as well have been eating ice cream", kwim?
And also-- I feel horrid. Physically. I mean, I am 20lb up from LDW and I feel it. Back when I was doing Weight Watchers, I remember one leader telling those who'd lost 10lb to go to the grocery, grab a 10lb sack of potatoes, carry it around for 3 aisles or so, and put it down. Just to realize how much extra weight one had been carrying around. I feel like that. I feel like OMG I can't believe I just strapped a 20lb sack of potatoes to my belly and I have to carry it around for awhile. I feel bloated and sick and I'm glad it's the cooler season so I can hide it in big sweatshirts. It feels horrible. I can't believe I had 20 more last year! And 20 more the year before that!!!! Yikes.
Oooh, vinegar/mustard dressing sounds YUMMY. What do you put it on? Lettuce? Fish? Chicken? All of the above? I doubt it was the aloe, unless there's oil in it. It might have been the orange. I hear oranges can impact losses. I don't usually try them on P2, though I am dying for clementines!
For the dressing, how do you make it? Just mix vinegar and mustard? Or do you have a special recipe? I am so going to try that tomorrow!
I dunno, pinkeye stinks, but I'd almost rather have that because I know it's gone with meds, but a scratch or something IN the eye, now that can do some real damage.
No....don't know the song, I don't think. My ds is 11. Are yours younger? We might have missed a "song window" because of age, or something
VLCD 2, down 2.4lbs. I so far have been able to have one giant cup of coffee with half and half per day
