I never thought about the beets.....I guess I just regarded them as a veggie and thought they wouldn't be a problem LOL But I think I'll still give it a try. If it worked, it would be so nice
We'll see what the scale says in a few hours. Then I'll decide what to eat for the day
By the way, I don't know if I said it before but I really admire you for your willpower. I have never had to go through getting sober but that's just because some years back, I made a conscious effort not to touch one drop of alcohol during a bad phase of my life. If I hadn't, I'd probably be an alcoholic today. Letting go of a crutch like alcohol must require enormous willpower (something I'm often sorely lacking), so you can be really proud of that accomplishment. And now you're summoning the same mental strength to reach the weight you want to be at. I admire that
And now I really have to sleep, see you tomorrow
No, I do them different every time, but mostly the same. Basically I put heavy cream and stevia in the mixer. Mix, but not stiff. You don't want completely whipped cream, because otherwise it's hard to get into the popsicle molds! Sometimes I add a bit of baking cocoa. Sometimes vanilla (or other flavor) extract. Peppermint extract with the cocoa is really good! Sometimes I add coconut milk for extra yummy creaminess. I like to experiment and I like sweets
LMK if the hot dogs work out for you! I have found what appears to be compliant roast beef lunch meat! It's Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh Slow Roasted. I roll them up with mustard inside.
Holy cow, you got me thinking about hot dogs, and I just checked the ones I got at the Poor Store (scratch'n'dent) and they are compliant!!! OMG I am so going to have hot dogs. They're 65g each and I know I can get away with two for a serving. I've had extra protein before. OH, nom!!! I think I shall go back to the store today and see if they have any more. I bought 4 packages last time. They're Dietz and Watson. They're soooo good, and they have the casings on, and they're still all connected end-to-end
Beets are one of the most sugary veggies there are. Along with corn and carrots. Which is why they aren't compliant
Alcohol-- if you're an alkie, you're an alkie, whether you drink or not. There's a guy in my regular meeting that says he knows he was a dry drunk before he ever started to drink. It's about behavior, not just drinking. There are marker behaviors.
Anyway-- it wasn't will power. Thank you, though. After 17 years, I still can't explain what happened-- but you can bet it was with the help of a Higher Power, not just me, and a LOT of meetings. I went twice a day every day for two years or more. You have to learn new ways to cope with things besides drinking, which was my default. I pray a lot
