yucky withdrawl from lexapro

Hi all,

I was on lexapro and wellbutrin until a few weeks ago. I weaned off of wellbutrin first, and that went just fine. Next I slowly weaned myself off of 30mg of lexapro. I had been taking the lexapro down very slowly, and I finished it over a week ago but I feel like total sh*t!!!!

Any advice on how to make it go away faster? The worst symptom is the severe nausea that comes and goes (but stays too long). I am also short-tempered (no big surprise) and have constant headaches that are only dulled when I take ibuprofen.

Please, I’ll try anything, I am sooo sick of feeling sick!

How slowly did you go off? You should take about a month to six weeks to wean of any ssri.

No advice, just a

I just weaned off celexa and I'm having a hard time of it, too. I get shooting tingles, but worst of all is that I feel like crying all.the.time. I'm hoping things even out soon. I used to manage my depression with magnesium, calcium, and fish oil, so I know I need to start that ASAP!

Good luck!

Just so this...don't have much to offer except prayers. I'm trying to get off Paxil and it's horrible. How is it going now?

Jenn,

Thanks for the prayers. I am sorry to hear you are having a rough time getting off Paxil. Physically I am fine now, but mentally I am somewhat depressed and extremely irritable.

I am not very active but have noticed a huge difference when I take a long walk, bike ride, or swim. I know its easier said than done but I seriously think I need to become one of those people that are totally addicted to exercise. I am meeting a friend for a jog tomorrow morning.

It's rough- I've gone off Celexa (cold turkey; THAT was a dumb move) and Paxil, weaning off (and I probably did it too slowly). It's rough, and really, the only thing you can do is wait it out. Every time I felt crummy, I'd sit down and think, "Okay, only a few more weeks of this, this won't go on forever." I don't remember how long Celexa took, but for Paxil it was around 6 weeks until all my symptoms were gone (the nausea was the worst, I think).

Good luck, I know how hard it is.
