When you guys say sodium ascorbate, are you speaking of vitamin C? Are they the same things?

I get tinctures from the HFS, or places like Vitamin Shoppe carry some of them. You might be able to order some online if you don't have a HFS near you.

I have a whole array of herbal tinctures and some herbs in dry form. The tinctures are arranged in alphabetical order on a lazy susan, so I can find them quickly. And that cabinet smells so good just walking by it The ones we use a lot are: Calendula, Olive Leaf, Nettle, and Milk Thistle. DH is using Cat's Claw a lot for a specific condition, otherwise it's not something that would get regularly used. During the winter we use echinacea, astragalus, elder, yarrow for fever, and catnip. The other herbs get used less often. Goldenseal was helpful when we thought DH had food poisoning, but it was likely some kind of digestive blockage of food that subsequently went bad (similar to food poisoning).

I also have clay, activated charcoal, calendula cream, arnica gel, badger balm, Eucerin calming creme, Tecnu for poison ivy, Aveeno bath, Bag Balm, sodium ascorbate and C-salts, and sambucol. I have a few homeopathics, too. We have rubbing alcohol, peroxide, and Betadine on hand too. Oh, and let's not forget the apple cider vinegar and coconut vinegar, as well as sea salt. And there's the Sinus Rinse thingy too.

Oh yeah, Tea Tree Oil and Neem Oil (for Dh's fungal toenails), and essential oils of peppermint and eucalyptus.

It took me awhile to accumulate all of these. I put together a reference notebook of information for each herb I have.

And sodium ascorbate is one version of vitamin C, a kind you can take in large doses, and it's not acidic. I get mine at WholesaleNutrition.com. It's also available elsewhere.

We don't have any children's tylenol or children's ibuprofen - because DS is sensitive to ALL the flavorings, and we wouldn't use it much anyway. I do have some dye-free, low-dose adult ibuprofen tablets that I would cut in half and then crush just one half and add it to some food, if truly necessary for DS - say for pain. But that hasn't been necessary so far.

We also have various vitamins, minerals, neuromins, and probiotics. Sometimes I take ashwagandha for adrenal support.

Just saw JaneS's post....we also have the garlic/mullein ear drops, but haven't needed to use them yet.

depending on the application you can mix them or use them one at a time. For fresh wounds I always mix them. For tooth/gum pain you mix them. There are plenty of times I'd use them more as a simple.

Dried goldenseal for colds
Dried Calendula for rashes and skin issues
Elderberry syrup for colds and flus
Garlic oil for ear infections, although she has never had one to date.

Every other day she gets a multi vitamin alternated with CLO.
She also gets probiotics, not everyday, but at least once a week. We also do fermented foods. we eat a whole foods diet and do green smoothies too.

I also do bone broths when sick.

I avoid fever relievers as much as possible. If she cant sleep I will use motrin, but only if she cant sleep. I feel rest is important too.
