visiting an AME church

the catholic church where i went as a child is now an AME Church, and i have never experienced an AME service. when i go to my mother's house, i thought i would like to visit, but i have no idea what to expect. i only know, from walking around the neighborhood on a Sunday, that most everyone dresses up.

i am feeling nostalgic, i think, as my mom prepares to move this year. i would love to see the space, and to experience the service as a respectful guest.

I did a project with an AME church back in grad school--and I absolutely loved the worship service. Yes, people do dress up a bit more (lots of ladies in hats ). I remember the services I attended there fondly--great Music, great preaching.
