Questions About Chalean Extream

I am considering getting this workout series as a birthday gift to myself in September, only if I can lose 10 pounds by then. But I have some questions for those of you who are using or have used it. I want to lose 35-40 pounds total and I want to firm/tone my muscles, not looking to bulk up.

Do I have to have weights? We only have 5 pound weights and I cannot afford to invest in weights right now, plus I really have no where to store them as our house is already busting at the seams. (2 adults, 3 kiddos 4 and younger, plus a 45 pound dog in under 1000sf)

What is the time commitment, how long are the workouts and how many times a week do I need to do them?

After I finish the program, 90 days right, then what? Do you continue to use it past 90 days only periodically or what? Did you move on to something different a next level of weight training? Did you just use what you learned on your own, without the dvd.

I am looking for relatively quick, long term results but don't want to have to dedicate every day of the rest of my life to this program, kwim?

Lastly did it really work for you? How hard was it to stay with it and also how difficult was the work, how tired/sore were you?

Would love to see before and after pics.

You don't have to have weights with ChaLEAN Extreme. The program actually comes with a resistance band you can use instead of weights. But if you decide to use weights, the 5lb weights you have should be enough when you are starting out.
Basically the plan will have you working out 5-6 days per week. I'm sure the workouts are no shorter than 30 minutes. After the 90 days, you can start over and do another round with more weights. Or you can move on to another program.
My suggestion to lose weight more quickly is to try Turbofire (also a Chalene Johnson program). Chalean Extreme focuses mostly on building muscle. I am currently doing Turbofire, and I love it. It's sooo intense and it burns tons of calories.
I haven't done ChaLEAN Extreme yet, but I plan to after I finish Turbofire. I have seen people have great results with both programs though. The work is difficult, I'm not going to lie. You need to be willing to work through the pain and devote the time if you want to lose the weight. If you want specifics on either program, go to the link in my signature. I purchased the Chalene Extreme package. It came with bands to use for working out. You work out for about 40-55 minutes 5 days a week. More if you want to add in the ab exercises.

Honestly, I purchased it to lose weight and it did bulk me up. My thighs and biceps were bulky. I stuck with it for all of phase 1 and 2 and half of phase 3.

I am going to sell it and look into either Turbo Jams or the program the pp mentioned.

I do like Chalene and the workout. She constantly reminds you to go slow and to push it, but not hurt yourself, etc. I didn't mind the workouts and they def. gave me definition, but it just wasn't what I was looking for!
