Having a breast cyst drained

Soooooo, I have a small cyst in my breast that been getting bigger...it's doubled in size between 7 month ultrasounds.
The dr wants to drain it, the nurse assured me it's a simple, quick procedure with a small needle....

Can you tell me your experience if you've had this done?

I'm not flipping out or anxious about it....just would like some "real world" stories if you're willing to share so I can get some perspective.

Also, I didn't think to ask the dr at the time, but do you know if this would be something that could be making my hormone levels fluctuate?

TIA for sharing!

I had this done twice when I was 15 (the third time the cyst returned, they decided to surgically remove it, which I was fine with as having it was uncomfortable). Both times, the draining was no big deal! It was a little gross seeing what came out, but it wasn't very painful at all! Good luck!

Thanks for replying!!

Was the needle one of those long thin ones?
Did it hurt when they were in the breast trying to stick it? Or do they numb it all up?
How about afterwards...was your breast tender? I mean, they day I'm having it done is a scheduled exercise day and, well, I'd really like to run, but not if my boob is gonna hurt.

Sorry, I just have a need to know before hand!

I had a 'cyst' drained once, it turned out to be filled with milk after I had stopped nursing. The draining didn't hurt at all. They used a long super thin needle attached to an empty syringe. I kept tensing up and cringing expecting it to hurt but it didn't feel like anything at all. They didn't numb it at all, I think it was just that the needle was so fine that there was no need. The most uncomfortable part was having my shirt pulled up in front of a doctor and two nurses.

I should add, it didn't hurt in any way after either.
