Interior paint suggestions?

Any suggestions for eco friendly/low vapor paint that is reasonably priced?

I'm a big fan of Aura since we used it for my first ever painting project. It was very easy to work with, and although it wasn't cheap, we only used half as much as the calculated amount we thought we'd need. Plus we had great coverage after 1 coat (though we did 2 anyway) so that may bring the cost down even more. I'd definitely recommend it.

I just found a place near me that carries Aura, and WOW. $54 a gallon. I can't do that.

Home Depot has one called Freshaire, any feedback on it?

Home Depot has a brand called "Freshair". Great coverage, good color selection and reasonably priced.

Freshair is MUCH cheaper than that. My goodness! I think it's around $30 and some change a gallon.

Re:Interior paint suggestions?

First compare the rate from nearest shop for the paint you choose.

We've used Lowe's low-VOC paint (Olympus, I think?), Aura and whatever the one a step down from that is (Natura?). The Aura is head and shoulders above the rest, although Natura is pretty good, too. We got excellent one-coat coverage with Aura with a deep yellow color we used, and pretty good one-coat coverage (few touch-ups needed) with a deep red. We got pretty good coverage with Natura with a green color, but did need to do some touch-ups. Those colors came out very rich and saturated. With the Lowe's brand we needed two coats (and I still see some spots that could use touching up) and the colors were much lighter (light blue and light gray). While those rooms look nice, it's an obvious difference in paint quality. We still have to paint the living room, and I'll spring for the Aura again, as we used about half as much paint as we needed with the Lowe's brand. It also had basically no smell - you could stick your nose right in the can and not smell anything.

My experience is almost exactly the same as Russsk's. Depending how big the room you're painting, Aura can be very reasonable in price. I did 600 square feet with one tin! Olympic would have needed three tins, because I don't get good coverage with it with two coats.

I haven't tried Fresh Aire because you can only buy their set colors (65 of them). I'm the kind of person who has a preferred white for each room and will keep going back for sample pots until the color is perfect.

In our town, Fresh Aire is $40, Natura is $45, Aura is $60 and Olympic is $25.

This has been my experience also. Olympic has horrible coverage when we've used it.
