Triangle Beach/Aquarium Playdate

All right ladies. It's only the middle of the summer and I've yet to get on the ball with planning a playdate day trip.

I'm thinking a trip to the NC Aquarium (http://www.ncaquariums.com/fort-fisher) at Ft. Fisher - day trip style We caravan to the beach and hold on to our hats cause who knows how the ride will go.

It's about a 2 hour trip down to the beach. Figured we'd hit the aquarium, play in the sand, have some lunch and be back for dinner. I'm even open for staying through dinner.

Let's start throwing out dates. I'm open anytime between no at 8/10.

Anyone else?

Caden totally despises the car...like screams the entire time we go on long trips. It sucks big time. He's sometimes OK if someone is in the backseat with him with the portable DVD player. We do go to Carolina beach a lot for weekend trips because he would really lose it if he had to make 2 long trips in one day. If you guys decide to do it on a weekend let me know, we may plan a weekend trip.

April Dawn, I feel your pain. Since E was a preemie and I exclusively pumped, I pumped in a closet at work, in my car, in the NICU, and even in a Target parking lot.... lots of places. It was not fun!

Wow! I grew up in Eastern NC and don't remember ever hearing of Britt's! That photo makes me want an Anne's donut real bad. That's what I grew up on. They melt in your mouth when they're fresh... now in Rocky Mount & Wilson!

April, I have even pumped WHILE driving-before anyone freaks out, I hooked up before starting and when done turned it off but didn't unhook anything until I got to my destination. I have also pumped while doing surgery, and scrapbooking with some friends (went in the bathroom and put stuff on, pulled a big t-shirt on over top, then went out nad hooked to pump and continued working and talking while the pumping occurred. I have an inverter I can bring if you decide you want to go so you can just plug into the lighter rather than using batteries.

Im game. We need to go to the beach any for aminas birthday( aug 11). She wants to have her party at the beach. I get 2 adventures for the price of one! ( at this point I may want to leave her there) just kidding but she had been really out of control lately and I just cant take it anymore. oops sorry for rant.

but it would take some rearranging. Once we set it in stone, that is doable.

I could do any of those dates...although on the 10th will actually be at the OBX (Salvo) with the inlaws so that may not be the best day for us.

Ok...things have come in a bit clearer for me and it looks like Monday May 9 will work best.

Who's in? If we have enough people (and ages) I'll call if see if we can qualify for the discount.

They are open from 9-5. Takes about 2 hours to get down there. I'm thinking aquarium, lunch and beach - a whole day of fun. Realistically, what time could everyone leave? I've been known to be on the road by 8!
