Hey everybody!
I just brought my six month old for a well baby visit with a new ped, and while she was examining him, before I even knew what she was doing, she moved his foreskin slightly to look at the tip. After looking up a lot of information, I know that this sort of movement, though slight, is retraction, and will be more on guard next visit (as in not taking his diaper off--I was surprised as our last doctor never touched his penis). My question is this: should I soak him in anything or dab anything on the tip to prevent infection, or just leave it alone and keep an eye out for infection?
My second question is about him grabbing himself. Whenever he's naked now he's going after it, and while I don't want to discourage that in any way, it makes me nervous how hard he tugs. Should I let him go at it or try to distract him until he is better coordinated and won't be so forceful?
Thank you in advance!!

they all tug at themselves really hard! It totally seems like it would hurt them, but it doesn't. I would just let him do it.
, I would just keep an eye on it. It doesn't sound like she used that much force. Did he scream or cry? If he did there is more cause for concern. Just try to keep it clean and open to the air as much as possible. This way, if there is anything that needs healing, it will go faster than if kept in a diaper for long periods.
