Help identify a sling pictured in current issue...

Since the "Current Issue" forum is only for polls, I figure this is the place to post this.

Can anyone help me identify the sling pictured on page 45 of the current issue of Mothering? I can't find a picture online to put here, sorry. It looks like a great sling, possibly padded, and I have yet to try slings and may like to try that one.

So, looks like no one knows. Hmph.

My baby is pretty picky about when he wants to be carried or not, with no rhyme or reason as far as I can tell, and some days it's like he's in and out of the wrap we're using all day long. I think a sling would be so much more convenient for popping him in and out so frequently like that, and I really love that one in the current issue (July/Aug 2010). So, if anyone has a guess, please let me know, thanks

Oh dear, that looks like a bag sling... those can be VERY dangerous. (Many have recently been recalled due to infant deaths).

That 'harness system' for the infant's legs looks pretty silly too. Not easy for popping in and out IMO.

If you've got a good wrap already, why not just learn some different ways to tie it? The rebozo hold is basically the same thing as what you'd get with a pouch or a ring sling. I also found that popping in and out of the 'standard' wrap tie wasn't a problem with DD when using a stretchy wrap, at least. What kind of wrap do you have? I see you're in Deutschland, so you have easy access to the good stuff.

Anyway, if you do decide to go for a sling-type carrier, I'd highly suggest a basic ring sling or pouch rather than the bag sling. More versatile and MUCH safer. Padded is also over-rated, some people love it but others find it makes it harder to adjust properly. YMMV.

That's what I was thinking.

I have a Moby wrap now, and although it's relatively easy to use, I find it is not all that easy to just pop him in and out multiple times, plus I have to take it off for breastfeeding. I also have a Didymos, which is more or less the same thing just not stretchy. But I do want to learn more carries as we've been sticking to the hug hold only.
