Low Fetal Heart Rate and no VBA2C

I went in for my U/S to date the pregnancy today. the midwives' clinic was kind of a mill compared to the O.B. I was used to.

The U/S showed the baby at 6w2d with a heartrate that was visible but hard to detect by u/s at 119 bpm. They said that was on the low side of normal, so I am following up with an u/s in 9 days for viability.

Sadly, they won't do a VBA2C there. No trial of labor if you've had 2 Cs unless you've had one successful vaginal delivery, which is fine. If we have a baby, I won't really be that concerned about *how*, and takes the decision out of my hands.

I guess that means that I got a positive HPT at 9DPO and morning sickness before 5 weeks. Yikes!

DDCC here but wanted to reply. You had a very early ultrasound and the heartrate goes up every few days. I dont have any links but if you google heartrates you can see that they start beating somewhere around 86bpm and go up from there. I wouldnt worry yet.

Sorry about the VBA2C -- I'm thinking sticky thoughts for you. I go Tuesday next week for a "viability scan" and I really hate that term.

I like the idea of what kerrybennysmama says...makes sense. I often wonder about all those early tests if they make you worry for nothing. I don't think I'm as far along as my prediction with LMP, so I wonder if that would throw something like that off. Lots of sticky baby thoughts coming your way.

DDCC, if you don't when exactly you ovulated, your baby could only be 5w6d or something - my babies always start measuring a few days ahead right from the get go for some reason. My 7 week scan was 2 days ahead and my 10 week was 4-5 days ahead. I say thing, because 119 isn't really all THAT low. So I wouldn't worry. The guess at age based on CRL, they really don't *know* how old the baby is. KWIM?

The hb is probably just working its way up.

Do those dates match up to where you thought you were? That is really early and the heart probably just started beating. My friend went in for an u/s at 6w 3d and the heartrate was 123 I think. The tech told her that it probably just started beating and that was fine. She is now 12 weeks and doing great! Sticky vibes!! Congrats on the heartbeat!

At 5w6d with DS his hb was only 92. A day or two makes a huge difference that early on. If you look at AmericanPregnancy.org they give the run down on hbs in early development and you're totally on track. GL!

Thanks ladies. My m/s has been so much better and I've had more energy. I'll be really surprised if the next u/s is a good one.

But then I've been eating more. I'm already really overweight, and I have been eating so much. When I don't eat, though, I feel terrible. Great excuse, right?
