Really want to build a bean teepee! Help!

I know it's late but I think it's not too late to build one of these, like, today!

Any suggestions for what to use for the poles? I'd like it to be permanent for next year, too. I want to find the fastest growing pole beans (60 days?). We're in zone 5 and first frost usually comes Oct. 6-18.

Any help appreciated. Here is a link and a picture.

I just used a couple of packs of bamboo poles and kitchen string. Home Depot, Menards, Lowes have bamboo pole packs in varying heights. Mine only took a few minutes to put together. For something like in that picture, you probably want to find 8 foot poles. I used 6 foot poles and probably will use 8 foot next year.

Kentucky Blue Pole beans take about 65 days to maturity.

You can see the one I built at the end of the garden in that picture.

Ooh, pretty garden! Thanks for the reply. I am going to Lowe's on Saturday so I will have to wait a couple more days.

Thanks Those masses of leaves and vines everywhere but the teepee are the result of letting the kid plant six pumpkin seeds. They've taken over!

we built ours very similar as well but we purchased poles from lowes over in the lumber section. Instead of them being rounded poles they were squared and sold in 10 ft lengths(I think they were pretty big) and used garden sisel to tie them together.

I cut some buckthorn and used those for my teepee poles b/c I didn't want to buy bamboo. Bamboo is probably pretty cheap but I wanted it to be free and the buckthorn needed to be cut anyway. I wish I had used more poles though. It is sturdy but they beans don't seem to stick to the twine I put in between the poles. They really only climb the actual buckthorn poles.
