i would try to eliminate as much as you could now that they are so young to really notice and add natural toys in as slowly as possible. "toymaking with children" is a wonderful resource for making your own toys and offers suggestions for the different ages. for the first year the recommendations are: soft small cloth, cradle doll, wooden doll, felt ball, embroidered ball, wooden spoon, blocks of wood with rounded corners without bark, strong basket, empty box with lid.

Etsy! If you have $ to spend, shops like A Toy Garden, Nova Natural, Palumba, Wooden Wagon are staples and full of Waldorf eye candy. Ostheimer figures are pretty much a staple for animals, though I love the ones on Etsy.

recommendations for other toys up to age 3 are:
knotted doll
carts
simple basket pram
baskets of building bricks "tree stump blocks"
carved wooden spoon
basket of chestnuts
rocking horse

At 1 and 2, they really don't need much in the way of toys. A wool ball perhaps (sewn either from old sweaters or wool felt); you could make one with a bell inside or without, or wet felt one and needle felt a scene onto it. The littlest probably enjoys taking things in and out of other things right now, so, some nesting blocks would be good. He also likes to stack and knock things down. We gave our daughter a wooden kitchen for her 2nd birthday. Didn't get much play until later on. A simple, 12" doll for either one, without removable clothing. And silks are always good.

I really think ourdayjourney covers it with the recommended toys.

I will add, though, that our dd is quite the little nurturer when she wants to be and she was delighted to have a stroller for her baby. I first got her an umbrella stroller, then a wooden pram. The wooden pram is harder to steer, so, she never used it much. In that regard, I would suggest I either a shopping cart, stroller or wagon. My kids push each other in the wagon and enjoy loading the shopping cart up with stuff and pushing that around the house.

And as for the rocker, we gave one to ds for Christmas. At 16 mos, he still does not choose to get on it. Of course, every child is different, though.

I think as parents we're more excited about these toys than our kids are at this young age.

I think a lambskin wooly is great to have for little ones. Also, it's never to early have them be attached to a doll...I wish I had done it sooner.
Doll play is so much kinder than animal play.

Both of my kids love playsilks. I consider them staples in the waldorf scheme of things threesisterstoys.com has wooden animals (Holtziger, I believe) and they have a free shipping code for MDC moms... "MDCMOM"
