feeling for strings?

I'm not sure if I just have super short stubby fingers or a really long vagina, but I can't feel my cervix or the strings to my IUD and never have been able to. I don't know if i'm going about it wrong or what but I can't find em. I guess I can wait till my doctor's appt in mid august to get my IUD removed, but I'd like to do it sooner and save me the time, trouble, gas, and parking fee (it's in downtown seattle ) to have the OB do it. Is there a certain way to feel for it, certain position that makes it easier? etc? lol. Oh and P.s. my boyfriend is out of town, so he can't do it for me either.

Ok, so I felt them finally but it was pretty difficult to get to them, and then it was like chasing a noodle around with a pair of chopsticks. It's a bit slick up there, lol. If I can figure out how to grab them, i might do so.

I had my IUD removed yesterday because I was in the process of expelling it.
My string was cut off really close so my dh could not feel it. When I checked after my period this time it was about and inch long and really hard to overlook (I mean overfeel).
You might be ovulating and therefore have your cervix all the way up. For me it helps to squat and bear down, ten my uterus us easy to fine (unless I am ovulating).
I would not remove i myself as it hurts a bit and my doc desinfected my then bleeding cervix. I would be too afraid to mess up my insides by doing this by myself!

Mine used to get tucked up behind my cervix before I asked to have them trimmed. Then I had no trouble finding them.

dizzy.gifI've had  mine for a week and my doctor told me to check every three days. problem is, i don't know how. i've read the instructions people have written, but it isn't working for me i don't know if i should be concerned, or if i should actually ask my boyfriend to help. how do i even know what i'm looking for? will i know for sure if i do feel the strings? is it pretty obvious?
