DD thinks she's a goat....

My DD is 10 months old and is learning to walk, but has suddenly decided to climb EVERYTHING. My 5 year old has a little step-stool he uses to help me cook, and she climbed up on it, fell over, pulled the stool over and on top of herself. Total crisis.

She can climb on the couch, on DS's bed, on the stool... it's NUTS. I've got the house pretty well babyproofed but she's determined to kill herself. Or me, from stress.

Other than a leash (LOL) any advice? Even sympathy would work LOL.

ETA: She can't climb DOWN from anything... only up. She walks off our bed (pretty high) and I've successfully caught her mid air each time but one day my spidey sense will fail...

I have no idea but I feel your pain. I walked into the kitchen the other day to find DD2 half way up the kitchen shelves, stuck and just hanging on.

She was trying to climb trees in the park yesterday.

I feel you. DS's goal in life is to climb onto or into everything. His upstairs mission is to climb into the bathtub headfirst. His downstairs mission is to use the rungs of the chairs to climb onto the chairs and then, preferrably, onto the table. Removing items or DS from the area results in screaming. I've considered building a climbing wall with sides and a top on a slight angle so that he can climb up and then slide/bump/roll down. Unfortunately I don't have the time/money/space for such a contraption, but it would make my life A LOT easier. We've been working on getting off the bed "the safe way" by scootching backwards on our bellies. DS sort of understands but has trouble turning around. That, at least, has prevented the headfirst crawling off the bed. Sigh. One kamikaze (sp?) stunt down, 100 to go.
