Cloth Doll

I want to get Peanut a cloth doll, but we're on a tight budget. I am semi-proficient at sewing and my mother could help me with the parts I don't understand. I'm hoping to make her one like this.

Are you asking for recommendations on a pattern? If so, you might try posting in Toys and Dolls.

Here is the site I used to make DD a doll. I like the way she turned out and will try to find a picture of her. I used an old ted hose for the stockingette and flesh colored material for the skin. I used regular stuffing, not wool as this was my first attempt and I didn't have wool.

Here is a link to the dolly I made. I also made a baby one using a general star as the body and craft beans for the stuffing like a bean bag.

I like this pattern http://judisdolls.com/babybows/index.html though I'm not keen on the sleeping/waking face thing.

I also like having a doll that will fit in real baby clothes, it's much cheeper and easy to find used baby clothes than decent dolls clothes. Also lots more free sewing patterns
