play silks -big hit with all the kids in my daycare!
puzzles
homemade play dough and a set of cookie cutters
child size broom (this is my nieces favorite... they are her horses!)

Oh, the MAGNA DOODLE! Buy the expensive one, as cheap ones break, but this is a huge car favorite for both my girls, and it's hard to outgrow. DH and I use it to have silent conversations in the car.

My 3 yr old really likes backpacks and bags and packing them for imaginary trips.

DD still likes a lot of ths stuff now, but at age 2.5ish to 3.5ish she liked:
~ ponies ... LOVES My Little Ponies and plays with those almost every day still
~ baby doll and accessories (blanket, high chair/feeding dish/spoons, clothes, bed, etc.)
~ books
~ playdoh
~ dressup clothes (mainly accessories when younger like sunglasses, play jewelry, shoes, hats, purses, hairbows, etc.)
~ duplo blocks
~ Little People house, farm, figures
~ trains and tracks (especially when big brother would make layouts and play with her)
~ wooden puzzles
~ outdoor toys like bubbles, chalk, sandbox

Mine loves her play kitchen, table, ball tent, chalkboard, easel stuffed animals and any musical instruments.
