Alternatives to Craigslist

I want to sell a brand new/never used KitchenAid stand mixer (in MA) but I don't want to use craigslist. I get nothing but scammers replying when I post there.

Anyone have any other ideas? I need the money (for glasses) and want a quick sale. I just don't know of any other place for posting items for sale.

Post your ideas here or pm me, please.

Thanks!

eBay? SomeFreecycle groups will have a sister site to sell things on. Or have a tag sale.

ebay won't work because I need to sell this and get cash ASAP.
Our freecycle groups are terrible.
Not allowed to have a tag sale...and No one would want to pay a fair price for a brand new KitchenAid stand mixer at a tag sale.

Yep, out of ideas.
I wish most of the local women didn't go away for summer. I'm sure one of them would buy it if they were in town.

Other parenting sites that are local based or you are a member of?
Local consignment shops- higher end, more focused on furnishings?

That's weird. I usually do pretty well on craigslist, though I've only sold cars on it. Can you put ads up in the markets?

I've posted it to my local groups in town but the majority of people in my town go away for the summer.

We only have higher end clothes consignment stores.

The markets in my town don't allow ads.

I may just have to put it off until the end of august (when locals are back in town.)

Maybe a bit further out from you? Cambridge or Arlington parents' lists? They are both VERY active and host fs ads....

I finally have someone in town who is interested (I was right...She was at her family's beach house. How nice that must be).

Thanks everyone!

Er, I might be interested... where are you in MA? I'm north of Worcester, about 25 miles.

The local woman hasn't gotten back to me. Why do people do that?!

Well, for ebay you can specify local pickup only, if you want. I have had better experiences with CL lately too, sold a jogging stroller and a kelty backpack on there recently.

Is there a local option? I'm not shipping this thing.

it's an application in FB that says it is powered by http://www.oodle.com/ so I went there and typed in boston, MA and go a lot of listings, so you could either go through FB or that site I think ..

if you use the MarketPlace there is no external app involved, just another function of FB.
