Would this stop you from trying?

I am training for a half marathon in 4 weeks, I am doing really well and feeling great thus far. I have never gotten PG very easily and DH and I are feeling pretty ready to add to the family. Realistically, if I did manage to get PG I would not even know before the race. Would you continue to postpone TTC for a race (it would be one cycle for me)? Am I crazy? I just know this could take a long time, I am not sure I want to put it off any longer, plus the race might be a nice distraction for TWW, what a frustrating time that is!

I would go ahead with the race. They say that if your body is use to the running it shouldn't affect anything. Just keep hydrated and don't stress Also G/L with your race!!!! I hope you do well!!!!

Thanks! I am looking forward to the race, it will be my first half marathon! I am not really doing it for time, I just want to say I did it! Running is becoming a bit of an addiction for me!

I'd do both, start ttc and focus on the race. oh but make your DH do all the work

IMO, the race could be really good for you! Though I'll never be in your shoes b/c I HATE running () taking time off for one cycle might be a good break from the stress of TTC.

However, make sure you don't go under normal recommended body fat, or it can make it more difficult to get PG

Good luck in the race if you do go through with it!

Very true, I had not really taken that into consideration. I really struggled to get PG the second time while nursing DD, I just could not get my weight up at all. I don't seem to be having that problem these days though! I am at the same weight I conceived DD1 and DD2 at. I will keep it in mind as I train more though. Thanks!

If you're used to running I see no reason to postpone ttc. Good luck.

Thanks ladies! your encouragement makes me feel better, I thought I might be crazy for wanting to try now. As it turns out, the race is 3 weeks away, not 4! Yikes.
