Garage shelving

We want to purchase some shelving for our garage. The spaces are irregular and so it needs to be somewhat customizable. I'm also thinking it should hook to the walls. I'm open to different materials.

Any suggestions? I have been looking at Home Depot's and Ikea's web sites.

We have several of the cheep wooden sets from IKEA, I think it is the GORM range. Customising the heights is easy but widths are more tricky since you would have to cut down the shelves. That said you an cheat on the widths somewhat by using 3 uprights per 2 shelves (ie | - | - | )

They come with a tether to attach them to the walls. We didn't bother when we were using them inside, prekids but I would recommend it if you are going to have any weight on them.

I think they have scrimped on quality over the years, we have some older ones, from about 10 years ago and they are better than the ones I bought a couple of months ago.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I saw those wooden ones and they look so great.

We decided to go with the ELFA ones from The Container Store and though they were pricey they worked out well. My in-laws had our big kids for just a few days and we really needed a customization done right away. Plus the floor in our garage is uneven, so having them attach to the walls was key. But, shoot, they were expensive!!
