soakers knit from merino?

Thread Starter
I knit a curly purly soaker using merino wool and am wondering if others have soakers or longies made from merino. It's worsted weight, but I just feel like it's "thin" or not sturdy, somehow. It's not that the stitches are loose or anything. Just that I'm not sure how it will work or hold moisture. Any hints on making it super lanolized or anything else related to merino?

Thanks!

I don't knit and am not all too familiar with yarns and all that stuff... BUT, I do have some merino covers. They're not hand-knit, but they are definitely thin. They do work, but are more likely to compression wick than some thicker wools. Doing some extra lanolizing in the wet zone should help a lot, though. Do post back and report on how well it works! I simply adore merino.

Merino works fine. What I've found though is that most knit covers are only good for day-time, regardless of what breed they're knit out of. For night-time, you really want double-knit (like Babyology), Tunisian Crochet or a fabric like Interlock or flannel.

It doesn't have the stretch of Cestari or BFL, but Merino is perfectly acceptable for covers.
