Cream Sauce Help for a New Vegan

Hi! Can someone help me with what I would use to make a cream sauce? I have a friend that makes a tomato bisque so I know it must be possible!

Thanks so much!

Soak raw cashews & then blend them, that would be the tastiest IMO except I'm allergic to cashews so I often use blended tofu or cannelini beans or sometimes coconut milk depending what I'm making.

I think the blended cashew suggestion is a really good one -- especially if you have a good blender, like a vitamix.

I like to make an alfredo style sauce with silken tofu (blended with nutritional yeast, a bit of garlic, salt, and pepper). Super fast and easy.

These recipes both got rave reviews on my blog (especially the alfredo) -

Vegan Alfredo Sauce

Vegan Cheeze Sauce (I did mac 'n cheeze but you could use it for, well, EVERYTHING!)

I just replace the "cream" with a coconut milk or silk creamer.

I made a creamy sauce the other night by sauteeing canellini beans in oil/garlic/onions with diced tomatoes and fresh basil, then transferred everything to the blender and pureed until creamy. It was really easy and tasty.

I just make a roux like normal but use earth balance margarine and soy milk. It still turns into a cream sauce, but a little less thick. You can use a thickener, such as corn starch. I love cream sauces!
