The No Cry Discipline Solution - any good?

I am looking for something more specific than Unconditional Parenting that will work for a younger (3+) child. I have been losing my temper more lately but I know that is mainly my own issue and has very little to do with my DD. However, her behaviour and lack of listening is frustrating my husband as well and I feel like we need more consequences but not punishment for her actions.

Was this book any good? Are there other options that are specific? I want something that helps in serious situations as well...when playful parenting is not always an option (safety, etc.).

Thanks!

I liked some of it and I found some of it too harsh for my style (though she is not out of the realm of GD IMO). I think it is worth reading. If it doesn't match your style then I think you don't need to use it. When I struggle with my temper and self control I find it helpful to use stuff from parenting books to help us get back to our calm and happy place. When my dd was this age my expectations were way too high and I found that by lowering them she behaved much better and I was much calmer. I have heard that with your first child you tend to have expectations that don't meet their age, especialy at that age.
