Should I be Calling the Doc?

First of all I had an IUD Mirena place a little over a year ago......... For the past few days I have had dull period like cramping..Today it is worse..So i decided to check for the strings....Ummm none there...and my cervix was extremely low! When I went to wash my hand after checking i noticed that i had a lot of mucous cervical fluid...What's the deal?

Is there a certain time during each month where u cant feel the strings? i haven't had this problem before..I'm nervous that it may have dislodged..I don't know if I'm coincidentally getting sick at the same time but I also have the chills and a soar throat. the soar throat tells me coincidence but who know haha..anyone else have this problem?

I would. When I had mine in I could always feel my strings (I do know my m/w left them a little long just so it wouldn't get lost).

thanks for ur response...that is what worries me...she left them a little long so we would have no trouble finding them...She checked the position mid-april and everything was fine and the strings were there easily felt....ugh..should i take a pregnancy test?

the cervical fluid and low cervix would make me inclined to think you were fertile and ovulating - not pregnant. And especially if you can't find the strings I would def get checked out and use backup birth control in the meantime.
