Thrush in a 6-month old

I don't know if this should be here or in Health and Healing, so apologies if this is in the wrong place...

I just today noticed some suspicious white patches on the inside of my 6 mo DS' mouth. Looking up images of thrush on google, I'm thinking that's what he has. He's nursing just fine and my nipples feel fine, so I'm not 100 percent sure that's what's going on. I also thought thrush was mostly in younger babies..??? How worried should I be, how can I tell that it really is thrush and how should I treat it if it is?

TIA!!

my dd just got thrush for the first time at 17 months so I guess it can happen in older babies. My nipples felt fine too. If it is thrush it is still important you both get treated so you don't pass it back and forth.

Well if it's not bothering either of you, I would start with probiotics for both of you, and rinsing your nipples with vinegar periodically. Hopefully that will be enough to balance you out.

FWIW, I started putting vinegar in a Downy ball in the wash when I do laundry, and we haven't had thrush since.
