cloth diapering without running water: tips please

We are planning on moving into our cabin in the next couple of weeks and are expecting baby #2 in a month. Our cabin doesn't have running water. We are going to continue cloth diapering/ECing but I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for doing so without running water.

We will have easy access to family/friends washers and laundromats and plan on purchasing the Wonderwasher.

Anyone with experience and/or suggestions?

I CD'd both kids and took a couple long trips to the ILs in the mountains in North Africa. I used flats and covers with good results. Flats are just so easy to get clean, and they dry almost instantly, are easy to double for overnight. Also cheap and make great rags/cleaning cloths later.

I second flats. I have running water and a washer but we diapered for a little while with a broken washing machine using flats and covers and handwashing and it was really easy. They require a lot less water to clean and a lot less soap and with only one layer, wringing them out is less blistering than multiple layer items. I've exclusively used flats for a long time now and they are super easy to use on any size baby, really simple to wash and they dry super super fast. With any diaper with multiple layers, you have to use lots of water and agitation to get all those layers clean. With flats, you have one layer to clean. Super easy. For being out and about and not wanting to fold, I like a nice close-fitting cover like flips. They are super stretchy so it holds the flat against the body and it's a really trim fit and you just lay the folded up flat in the cover like a pad. When you are home, you may want to fold and pin on baby to keep poop in the diaper better than laying in the cover would. Any cover you like would be good for flats. I personally like bummis super whisper wraps or wool soakers. My 31lb 2 1/2year old toddler girl is in flats and wool soakers at night now only and I just use two instead of the usual one for daytime. Works great!
