need some speedy AFO info

Our 11 month old adopted son has mild spastic CP mostly just tons of spasticity in his feet and lower leg. He's an adaptive booger and crawls and pulls up with ease, though it's not the way his PT would like it.

We got his AFO's after a couple adjustments and were sent home Thursday to add an hour of wear everyday. We're up to three hours today and he just SCREAMS! We are walking, rocking, bouncing but he's miserable. This is not my first go-around with AFO's our foster daughter has worn them since 10 months without as much as a wimper.

I take them off and there is nothing more than barely-there transient redness and he's off happily crawling and playing. He's always had a flair for the dramatic, slight ear infections will have him howling all hours of the night.

Is this normal for super-spastic babes to be so miserable in AFO's? Will it get better or should I be concerned?

I would say, slow down on the wearing time since he seems to be having a hard time adjusting. How did he do yesterday?

What kind of socks do you have on underneath?
