Talk to me about organic cheese

We do not have the budget to do all organic. We always buy the "dirtiest" organic. DS has not had anything but breastmilk. I plan to use coconut milk and almond milk when the time comes. I am curious...those of you who feel it is importnant to at least buy some organic foods. Do you always use organic cheese? Are there any other options that are good? I was buying the kraft shredded cheese for DH and I since it was made with milk not containing growth hormone. They have now changed their packaging and it no longer states this. Is amish cheese any better? I know grass-fed might be a cheaper option. I was hoping to be able to afford something healthy/safe from Kroger or Meijer since we do not have a Trader Joes or Whole Foods close enough. Thoughts? Ideas?

My friend from my AP group told me that Cabot cheese is at least growth hormone and antibiotic free.

We do the same thing. I wish I could buy all organic cheese as I know it's really important, but organic cheese is EXPENSIVE (as is all organic dairy/meat) and we go through a lot of it so we just cannot afford it. We get conventional shredded cheese and cheese sticks (except on my discount day at the co-op I will get DS the 'good' string cheese). Luckily the conventional store I go to started carrying slices that are antibiotic and possibly hormone free, and it's cheaper than slices I would get at the natural food store. If I remember later I will see what brand it is.

I do buy organic milk and butter since those don't disappear as fast around here. I also don't eat nearly as much meat as I used to, so those I am able to buy organic also, and eggs.

Please do let me know the brand when you have time. I look forward to the the day when organic prices start dropping in response to demand.

I'm not sure how much it costs, but I think Tillamook cheese is hormone-free (although I'm not sure if they use antibiotics).

The brand of slice cheese is Andrew & Everett

It says it's hormone and antibiotic free. I think at the store here it's between $2.50-3 for 7 oz.
