What do you do for cramps/lower back pain?

I've been having terrible cramps in my lower back - just like menstrual cramps, and just as agonizing. For awhile I was terrified this meant menses was coming on (signalling a miscarriage) but have since learned it's totally normal, just all the progesterone kicking in. The problem is, i've not found a great way to combat the pain! I've taken Tylenol, of course (totally ineffective) and have been doing stretches, and sleeping with a pillow between my knees, but many nights sleep is just impossible. (And being a FT WOHM with an active 5-year-old, i consider my sleep to be SACRED!!!!) Anyone else out there have ideas for how to get through this? What has worked for you?

TIA!!!

Heating pads on the back can often help with back pain, as could a warm bath. My best tip for any back or pelvic issues is chiropractic treatment. You can find prenatal chiropractors at http://www.icpa4kids.com/. Mine is *fabulous!*

I find that doing pelvic tilts eases my lower back achiness... I hope this passes soon for you.

I use tissue salts (no. 8 - mag phos) for cramps and they work very very well.
no. 4 is for inflammation - and may help too.

the nice thing about them is that you can use them whilst pregnant and on babies too (the mag phos is very good for tummy cramps for babies)
