Okay, first off, I am NOT a follower of TF in any but the most casual sense. My own beliefs promote eating TF foods when possible. My mother was told to quit all processed foods to lower her cholesterol. In this area (farm country), it is literally gymnastics to get real foods. Our local grocery doesn't even have a deli counter to slice meats/cheeses, and the best other food store is WalMart. I went to the farmers market this morning and bought from 4 of the 6 tables.
That all being said, I do what I can to eat mostly whole, natural foods. Since my mom went on this diet, I got a couple of books along those lines. I haven't even finished reading them, but I learned a few things that I immediately started implementing.
I don't restrict my own food consumption. I like tasty foods (ie, whole fruits, grains, etc.) and I eat them with gusto, taking my time. I do, however, often eat lunch at my desk, and supper is crazy with the kids, so I often eat cold foods.
The funny thing is, despite all this, I've lost 7 lbs in about 2 weeks. I wasn't trying, I don't exercise... all I did was try to eat more fruits and less HFCS.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is...
