Wanted: Creative ideas and advice

DS is 14 months old and has been EBF since day 1 and he has absolutely NO interest in using real food for his sustinence. He will nibble here and there but nothing close to filling his belly. DD before him ate really well and she was weaned at 16 months but he has me scratching my head.

His menu is very limited. He won't eat anything dairy (no milk, cheese, or yogurt) but he will eat pizza. No eggs. Very few fruits. Very few veggies. No oatmeal. The occassional Cheerios. On the plus side, he WILL drink a green smoothie. I'll fix those about once/twice a week.

And we never gave him a pacifier so I know some of his nursing is due to that. I guess I'm just looking for some ideas to encourage him eat a bit more real foods.

Thanks!

are you trying to feed him or letting him self feed? We've always just given the boys bits of whatever we were eating and let them have at it with their fingers (We have the old "sassy seats" that hook onto the table, so their right there with us)... If your not trying to feed him whatever your eating, I'd start with that - juts offer bits of whatever you have, veggies, grains, meats, spicy, not-spicy whatever and see if he'll eat that way. Good luck!!

I did smoothies with yogurt at that age... the thickness filled up the belly a little bit. I did just yogurt and juice, but I am sure there are lots of creative things you could add.

My friends roasted veggies ... beets, carrots, sweet potatoes, etc and had great luck with the baby liking veggies. Also, avocado, green peas, edamame. Bananas and other soft fruits.

I agree with giving tiny pieces of everything you are eating and just letting him pick.
