smelly diapers (motherease)

I'm currently using motherease one-size diapers and they've gotten a bad smell to them. I tried drying them in the sun, but that actually intensified the smell.

Any suggestions from other motherease users? thanks!

What kind of a smell is it? Like, do they still smell dirty? When do they smell? Right out of the washer? dryer? after they are peed on?

And what is your wash routine? Kind of machine, detergent, rinses etc.

Are you using enough detergent? And then rinsing until there are no suds?
