fridge is acting weird- help me troubleshoot (please)

Our fridge is 3 years old. It is making a rattle/engine sound and when I open either door it stops. It is an LG w/ the freezer on the bottom. Any ideas what this could be? Temp seems fine and it just started today. THANKS

Hmm... could it be unbalanced somehow, and when you open a door, the weight distribution changes? A rattle sound suggests that something is loose. Does it rattle when the compressor motor comes on, or the ice maker?

Fridges are fairly simple - I'd pull it out and see if I could pinpoint the source of the noise.

At the same time, I'd clean the coils (I try to do that once a year at least).

Maybe you need to adjust the door. We had to do that with ours. There should be some screws that keep the door on. Maybe tighten those and see if that helps? GL!

thanks- I will check this out. The last time I pulled it out to clean, I didn't get it back just right so that may be the problem. I hope so anyway!
