Dear baby Emily

Could you please go to sleep? I know you are very cute and smiley and happy, and you mostly just giggle and want to play. And I know you are teething and you are newly able to scoot making the world an infinitely more interesting place, but for the love of god...you are SIX MONTHS OLD. You can't drop to one nap when you are still only sleeping eight to ten hours at night with one or two feedings.

Please.

Go to sleep.

Now.

Please?

Dontcha just wish you could reason with them?
I was asking my 3 month old to take a nap for more than 20 min today.
She finally did late this afternoon and right now is ready to rock and roll at 9:09pm.
This is why they must be so cute and delicious.

Oh, hugs to you!

I remember pleading with DD, when she was about 2 months old, to "PLEASE! JUST BE REASONABLE!". That child just wouldn't sleep for very long. Ugh!

She's 9 months now and last week was a rehash of those early days. I lost my mind for a moment one night, but she woke me up only twice these last two nights, so there's a god out there somewhere.

But yeah, she's cute and curious and quick and smart and makes my heart pitter patter. Just... oh, how different would thing be if they'd only sleep like the books say??

mama. It's rough now, but maybe that tooth will cut through soon.

LOL! This is how I feel about my 4mo. She takes literally HOURS to get to sleep for the night (although she does sleep several hours stretches once she's down). It doesn't matter if I try before she shows signs of being tired or the second she shows signs of being tired or an hour after she shows signs of being tired. She just takes forever to finally settle down all the way.

Ha! This is my 7 mo to a T. Lately she has been up partying at around 2am. For HOURS. Then she wakes up at 6 like nothing out of the ordinary was happening a mere 2 hours before...hopefully this is just a phase!!!

Oh my god...everybody please be quiet. She's sleeping.

Going on 2.5 hours! (thank god the construction workers seem to be done for the day!)

(I decided since her sleep was reverting maybe I should try a swaddle...and I think it worked. I am afraid in typing this she will sense my cockiness and wake up to punish me...it's so quiet.)

3 hours of midday sleep? Now THAT is one happy baby! And might add one very happy mama!

LOL! way to go Emily! Sasha has been erratic with his naps lately but he does best if he gets in at least one long (1.5 - 2 hour nap) in. He's down now but last night he didn't settle until after 10pm
I'm not really trying to figure him out anymore.

Sleep well! Yes, in between teething and crawling, my DD is sleeping like 8 hours a night and still waking up 2-3 times. And napping only when she drops from exhaustion (in a crying heap that needs to be soothed).

Ladies, they do settle down don't they?

After the first 4 teeth, do we get a break?
