I recorded the first one but haven't watched it yet. I want to like it but have been so disappointed by things set in the Middle Ages.

I missed the first one but I think they'll repeat. Might even be able to see it online. I read Follett's World Without End (that I dubbed Book Without End ) - his writing is ok (can get a bit tedious) but has that expansive Edward Rutherford/Sarum feel to it which I love...

What did you think of the first episode?

I liked it... it had a lot of possible spin off plots. I about peed my pants when she squatted and peed on that bishop! ( sorry HAD to share that).

Im a historical novel/movie junkie I now have to go look up the people to see if they are "real"

I've only watched part of the first episode, but it seems pretty good so far. I read the book and from what I remember, it stays pretty true to that.

It's also on Netflix instant watch. At least the first 2 episodes.

I read the book after we saw the preview on Starz. I like it so far, most of all I like how they are condensing the many, MANY subplots (William of Shiring and his mother, etc) in order to focus on the main plot.

The book was about 300 pages too long, but expansive. I enjoyed it.

Oh good! We don't have Starz channel. My dh read the book, I have not. It sounds interesting and would like to see the mini series.

It looks like they have 3 episodes up now.

The book is looooong. And silly me, I'm reading World Without End right now and it's just as long.

The thing I really disliked about the first episode was that they left out the part about Phillip and his brother being orphaned and raised in a monastery. I thought that was an important aspect of his becoming a monk and helping to raise the baby Tom left behind.

I read the book a long time ago (like 10 or 11 years ago) and remember loving it. I think I read the whole thing in 2 or 3 days because I just couldn't put it down.

I watched the 1st 2 episodes and loved them. I haven't had a chance to see the 3rd yet. I have to watch when DD is asleep.

I'm thinking I'll re-read the book. I remember bits and pieces, but not how they connect.

Did anyone see the episode (can't remember which one) where they show the baby bfing? Actually breastfeeding, like from the mother's point of view. it was awesome - and so normalized! dh and I are watching it on Netflix and loving it.
