Local anesthetic for ingrown toenail?

I literally just got a BFP a few days ago but now my toe is starting to bother me again. I had an avulsion done on it a couple months ago and they numb the area before hand. It was just a tiny sliver that was cut out. I'm wondering if it grew back already since I feel it and have an appointment for Saturday. Since I am so early in first tri can I do a local anesthetic if I need it? I may go without but it will be way painful!,

Yep- I have had a few moles removed (one was actually ON my stomach) and they said it was totally safe. I think they only used one of the two available anesthetics though. They chose not to use one since I was preggo, though I forget which one

Thanks!
Even this early in First Tri, huh? This is the scary stage, as I call it. Once I get into about 12 weeks, I relax but these first few weeks scare the crap out of me. Especially since I don't have my first appointment with OB until 8/17 when I will be only 6.5 weeks or so.

Doctors will know which ones have been cleared for pregnancy and which ones will be questionable... ask them, and do not use a questionable one if you are worried about the fact that you are first tri (though at this point baby is not connected to you at all, thus not getting anything from your bloodstream so even if some went into your bloodstream, it would not touch baby)

This is true...I forgot that there is no connection at this point - just a glob of cells! Just glad I checked as I "forget" all about the ins and outs of being pregnant since it's been over 3 years. Thanks again!

Yeah that's the big important thing in this case, the baby is living off a yoke sack and the placenta has not formed. So many thing happen before a lady usually knows she is preggo and the saving grace if that yoke sack, baby gets stuff from it rather than you till the placenta forms and that is not for a few weeks.

I would actually want to do it as soon as possible, rather than in a few weeks when organs are forming and the placenta starts working.

I've read that some doctors use a local on the pregnant woman's belly prior to inserting the big needle for amniocentesis (typically performed between 15-20w), so I'm sure there are some locals that are considered perfectly safe for pregnancy. Good luck!!

I just had to have a local in my foot twice in one week. (Dislocated toe...the ER doc couldn't get in back in and I had to go to a specialist a few days later). I'm a lot further along, but there wasn't an issue when I asked. Both doctors just shrugged and said it wasn't a problem.
