I have a 17 month old boy, my first so I havent done this before. How do you know when they are ready to potty train? I read some sites saying to wait until they are 2 y/o because it takes less time. Lately my ds 'poops himself awake' a lot. He wakes up earlier than normal lately in the mornings b/c of a dirty diaper, also it happens when we try to put him down for a nap. I hear him 15 min later after just putting him down, he'll be wide awake b/c a dirty diaper. Should I start trying to just have a potty in the house for him to sit on during play time to get used to?
