A vegan pool party BBQ? Can I come???

I don't usually do sauces for my veggie kabobs, I like them plain. But if you're grilling, I think you HAVE to do some pineapple. I've been making Vegan Dad's citrus tofu and pineapple at least twice a week. It's getting a little out of hand, but I can't stop making it!!

I think you should grill some bread, too. Maybe some hearty bread, for grilled veggie sandwiches...or grilled pita with hummus. Can you have a vegan party without hummus?

Couscous with lemon juice, olive oil, green olives, red onions, mint, basil. Grilled bread is delicious, too. Tomato salad would be wonderful with either choice. As for the veggies - sometimes I do just a bit of cumin and coriander, sometimes a sauce of herbs, lemon and olive oil - whatever goes with the rest of your dish. Basil, oregano, tarragon, mint, etc. Brush it on after grilling.

1st thing that popped into my head was couscous. You could do it so many ways and it's excellent with kabobs.
Make it with veggie broth and throw in some raisins or dried crans, orange zest and toasted almonds or walnuts. Yum!
Wish I had this very meal right now.

ETA- a good sauce for the veggies: orange marmalade and nama shoyu

Any salad would work. Do you have Tofu on your kabobs? I never put it on mine so I always try to serve some sort of bean salad or something on the side. The easiest is garbanzo beans with lemon juice, olive oil, garlic and parsley. toss. chill. serve. But just Google cold bean salads and you should get all kinds of recipes.

I always love rice with veggie kabobs but the couscous sounds like a great idea.
