My 17 month old daughter has had oral and swallowing issues her whole life. We thickened her feeds as a newborn until 9 month old because she would aspirate them. Ever since she started solids, she's been very, very picky and I can't seem to figure out why she likes some foods and doesn't like others.
Pretty much, she'll eat dry cereal, some crackers, and lots of milk. I'm pumping for her and her twin brother still, but am only getting about 16 oz a day, which is 8 oz each. She's getting almost all her nutrition from milk (cow and soy).
At what point should I think about introducing something like pediasure or carnation instant breakfast? Her weight is fine, she's consistantly around 30-40% for weight, but I'm worried about anemia from so much milk intake and her not getting the nutrients she needs. She's always tested low in the iron department and even with iron drops she was low our last doctor visit.
We are in early intervention with a speech therapist for her, and it seems to help a bit, but I need something to help in the meantime.
